The Great Florida Teach-In is an annual job fair organized by the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Educator Recruitment, Development and Retention. It provides a convenient forum that enables certified teachers seeking employment in Florida to obtain interviews with Florida school district and Florida charter school personnel responsible for hiring teachers.
The 2015 Teach-In is scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Wyndham Resort on International Drive in Orlando, Florida. The Department does not hire or interview teachers; accordingly, the Department cannot guarantee that teachers attending the Teach-In will be interviewed or offered employment.
Attendance is restricted to educators who possess a valid Florida Professional Certificate, Florida Temporary Certificate, or Florida Statement of Eligibility indicating they are eligible in any of the following subject areas:
- Elementary Education
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
- Foreign Languages
- Reading (Certification or Endorsement)
- Science: General
- Science: Biology
- Science: Chemistry
- Science: Earth/Space Science
- Science: Physical Science
- Science: Physics
- Social Science
- Speech-Language Pathology
- Technology Education
Note: If you are a recent graduate of a teacher preparation program and have not yet received your certificate becuase your transcripts are not ready we encourage you to register and attend the Great Florida Teach-In.
