Action Research
Action research, as defined by the Florida protocol standard, is “a process where participants–who might be teachers, principals, support staff–examine their own practice, systematically and carefully, using the techniques of research.” (Caro-Bruce, C. The Action Research Facilitator’s Handbook. National Staff Development Council). Action Research consists of a defined plan of study in which the teacher documents what changes will be made and collects formal data on the resulting changes in students.
